Everything is Everything
The circle opens
The circle opens
and closes
And in the centre
Grace.
Yesterday the Leaf arrived
Long journeys
swam past my eyes
The Leaf floated
down
and settled
in the centre of my palm.
I was not seeking you
Beloved
Not calling out your name
And yet you arrived
with the three-quarter moon
bearing a leaf in your palm -
your gift
for Shaista
Oh, Shaista, this is incredibly beautiful. A warm embrace for you!

You have a way of ending poems that is hard to equal. I loved this one, it touched me inside very deeply. Many thanks.
Greetings from London.
Absolutely real.
ReplyDeleteDear Shaista beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI know dear one, but lets hope death does not come for a very long time, yes it is around us, but it doesn't mean it is for us.
Love Renee xoxo
Hello, Shiasta,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting The Marmelade Gypsy. I believe it was Ruth who posted your poem about "yes" which so inspires me. I suspect my chronic medical issues aren't so siginificant as yours, but I'm still getting a handle on them. Reading through your blog and remembering your poem reminds me how to live and live well regardless.
On a Michigan day where it is unseasonably warm and uncharacteristically sunny, this poem about the gift is more eloquent and meaningful than you can imagine.
Lovely words. feelings so warm and tender.
ReplyDeleteHey,
ReplyDeleteVisited your blog for the first time today. Cool pic of Thich Nhat Hanh... I got my Zen monk hubby some of his CDs as a gift last year.
If you want to get out of your skin and wander around in mine sometime, come on by Mental Meatloaf. It's mostly a goof, but sometimes a little insanity is good medicine.
Cheers,
M
'...a leaf in you palm...' :)
ReplyDeleteAmazing! You're beautiful! Inside and out!
ReplyDeleteDear One, Thank you for the message left on Wu Fung Road and I read the one on Maia's. I would gladly fill all your walls.
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful.
ReplyDelete"and in the center...Grace"
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
(still smiling at you returning to the beginning of the Guernsey Literary pretending it was new...something I am known to have done a "few" times...)
