In dreams we meet
a thousand times
You and I
We walk by seasides
giggling like children
Our words drifting
in
and out
like sand and foam and bubbles
And the troubles
of our hearts
melt quietly aside
tide after tide
Life after life
I long to reside
beside
You, Beloved
This Winter too
shall fade to Spring
and green shoots
will ring true
for us,
Always.

Thanks for joining my blog and I hope to get to know you and your poetry in the weeks and months to come. Good luck and best wishes...

Your beautiful words must have meant so much at their wedding. My middle son marries in May and I was honored that his bride-to-be has asked me to write a poem and to read it at the reception. Writing it won't be the problem but I am not sure I can read it without bawling.
It's especially wonderful read aloud, Shaista. sigh.
just lovely and romantic...
Dear Shaista,
Willow said it well. even more beautiful read out loud.
My daughter marries this DEcember and I hope I hear beautiful words like this!
And how di you feel going to only ypur thrid wedding!?
oh! this is beautiful! thank you for sharing, really thank you. it must have been quite emotional for you uttering these words, even if expressing the feeling of others. kenza
Your posts never cease to amaze me :)
Beautiful Shaista..just beautiful!
Thanks for leaving a comment on my post:)
The literal translation of "kol sana wentom tayebeen" is may you be good and healthy every year.
As you mentioned "tayeb" essentially means "good" :)
Looking forward to reading more of your posts. And please don't be a stranger, drop by from time to time;)
Thank you, Shaista, for your beautiful poetry and drawings! Rizwan shared your site with me and I'm loving it... inspiring, fresh, light. Beautiful.

Such beautiful words! Adds a really special touch to the wedding. My friend, Janneke was asked to sing at her daughter's wedding and she was truly delighted and so were the guests.
Beautifull and romantic poem, I loved it, made me sight
I loved this line: 'Our words drifting in and out like sand and foam and bubbles'. It rolls off one's tongue so easily. It's a beautiful poem. I'm sure the bride and groom were touched by your generosity and creativity.
Greetings from London.
It's lovely, and so is the sketch/painting.
And spring will also fade to winter as they share their lives over the years.
Pretty poem and nice illustration as well
