The Fullest Moon

I am here
Watching you from afar
Trailing in the dust
of my memories
Awaiting your command.

I was bound to you
Time before Time
And will be true
for Eternity.

Judge not my actions harshly,
I am but a simple handmaiden.

Will He deem me fit
to be your bride?
Do you notice I am missing
from your side?

The earth you crush
beneath your feet
is nearer to you than me
but the dust of your presence
rains on my heart
And love is not forsaken.

- Shaista

  2. You are an illuminating anchor
    Of leagues to infinite number
    Crashing waves and breaking thunder
Tiding the ebb and flows of hunger
You're dancing naked there for me
    You expose all memory

    Bella luna, my beautiful
How you swoon me like no other

  7. The picture is very suggestive and it fits perfectly with what you wrote here.

The end was esp. powerful for me.

  10. blink blink !
    i have been here before.
rain or shine you are batting. that is courage.

well bred, highly refined, purity, sophisticated ? is that right ? That is Shaista, i think. no, i don't think, i know, it shows in your writing Shaista.

i see the influence of right to left here. Faarsi Urdu, Hebrew. Your style, your thinking.
i am not qualified to comment on your poems Shaista, as life is a straight line for me, i understand nothing else. But i see clarity, intricacy, nafaasat and nazaakat, what is nazaakat in English Shaista ? i am not too comfortable with the language. And my Angrezi is very very chaupat. Pardon me.
And i see a lot of giving, only giving in your poems i have read. Consumed ?

    EEEEEEEEEE

  16. It breaks my heart, with yours.

I was thinking about the word fidelity last night. Remember "high fidelity" stereos? True to the real sound. Or it means being true to love, no matter what happens.

Find the dusty presence to be love, even as you're feeling crushed, that is fidelity.
