Butterflies attract butterfly catchers;
Young men with invisible nets
Seek to imprison young women
With the desire to fly.
The ability to escape from such perils
Is an advantage acquired only by time,
(Not wisdom, but experience). Such men
Must be eluded at all costs.
If butterflies must be caught -
And really, why must they? -
Better to do one's own catching.

Oh, this is wise! I remember my days as a fluttering butterfly, trapped in an invisible net. Was darned hard to escape. So nice to see you posting, my friend..........
wise closing lines....I like butterflies when they are free....!
Curious:
Men are a bit demonized here (as many should be of course)
Experience wins over Wisdom -- I like that
But your last line -- I guess that means you will no longer let men choose you (catch), but you will decide which to catch.
Now that is wisdom, coming from experience, eh?
I can't see why anyone chases butterflies with nets. I have tried to photograph them.
Catching butterflies has to do with collecting and pinning them to boards.
alas too true for many men...
Methinks this is penned by an escaped butterfly? Well said!
Beautifully deep and wise!!❤️
